Driving through Maine and New Hampshire

Maine is a huge, wide-open space.  There are a lot of nice back roads to travel.  You see a lot of interesting things driving through these New England states.

 

There are covered bridges all over New England.   I have a separate posting for all the ones I saw.  I love them - they are beautiful.

 

This covered bridge is actually a gift shop.  This one is in New Hampshire.

 

This one was also in New Hampshire, but I don't know the name of it.  Some of them are preserved and you can't drive on them; but, others are still used as bridges that you drive through.

Stephen King's House

Pretty cool house belonging to Stephen King.  I LOVED the fence and gates around it.  The house is in Bangor, Maine - a beautiful town.

Acadia National Park

I am a lover of National Parks and this one is one of my favorites.  We started out our day by stopping by the The Jordan Pond House Restaurant  for popovers.  The view is amazing and it was beautiful walking around Jordan Pond.  The day only got better from there!  Beautiful scenery, lots to do, gorgeous weather AND popovers.  It was perfect.
